Pros

I have nothing but positive things to say about the all the people I worked with. The team was very collaborative and supportive of each other. I worked along some of the best people I've ever met in my professional career. Leadership that I directly reported to were all great people who always made me feel valued but it felt as though their hands were tied to when it came to advocating on our behalf on the issues the team would bring to their attention. Things changed quite frequently but I appreciated leadership's ability to pivot quickly when things weren't working but often felt as through my department wasn't taken into consideration when changes were implemented. Benefits were great, lots of PTO, compensation was fair for industry standard.

Cons

It's a volatile industry with lots of competition which makes them very susceptible to economic impact. During the time I worked there, there were constant changes in leadership. In addition, there was very little empowerment given to employees which added to a feeling that we weren't trusted to make any decisions at all without approval from higher ups. It often felt like the higher ups making decisions had a fundamental lack of understanding of what our role/function in the company was and a heavy emphasis was given to "productivity" that didn't translate to our daily responsibilities. Their expectations were more aligned with a call center with a focus on just pumping out calls but our success was measured by growth that is impossible to achieve with that mentality. I was unceremoniously laid off along with dozens of others without warning. I wasn't even allowed to retrieve personal belongings from my desk until days later. HR offered no support and has yet to reach out with with anything other than standard off-boarding paper work.

As always, we value feedback as it allows our business to learn from numerous perspectives. As a company we are constantly striving to find the right balance between associate empowerment and proper governance of our processes and functions. Finding this balance can be especially challenging during economic uncertainty while trying to meet the needs of our external and internal stakeholders. Our HR partners are readily available to support all associates throughout their journey with Koalafi and after. This feedback is a reminder that the path toward an optimal state as a company is always evolving. Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. Paul Gilman , EVP

Pros

- Leadership is excellent and truly cares about employees and their needs. They go out of their way to ensure that people are not only treated well and taken care of professionally, but also are very focused and accommodating towards helping people take care of their personal lives as well. - Very positive culture. People seem to be truly collaborative in nature and interested in both performing at a high level as well as helping teammates to do the same. - Growth Opportunities. Leadership have done a great job of making sure that people understand the growth path within their chosen department. They also provide lots of opportunities to interact with and be exposed to other departments. - Open to Feedback. Leadership is very open to feedback and value people speaking up and giving input, regardless of position. - Pay is solid. Compensation plans are fair and competitive. I've done sales for other fintech companies where comp was not necessarily driven off performance. At Koalafi, it's a true meritocracy when it comes to comp. The environment is very competitive (in a healthy way) and performance is highly valued. - Challenging Work. This is not a place where you can get complacent and repetitive with your work. It's fast-paced, and always growing/evolving, so you have to be sharp and on top of your game. - Time Off. You get plenty of PTO, and the leadership is great about approving requests and accommodating last minute needs and other special circumstances.

Cons

It's a relatively young company, so, there are lots of changes and growing pains. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does take a lot of adaptability. Inside Sales Specific: There are no residuals, so comp-wise, you are starting at 0 every month. You have a pipeline, so you can still set yourself up for future success, but once you hit the pay milestones with a given account, it's gone. The comp is good and there's plenty of opportunity but it is a never-ending grind. This isn't the worst thing in the world, but because you don't have the safety net of residuals, you have to really be strategic about taking time off.

Thank you for this powerful feedback. We are always happy to hear feedback about what is working well and what we can improve upon. We take communication, support, fairness and overall culture seriously. Glad your review reinforces that we are doing reasonably well on these dimensions. As you mention, we do experience a fair amount of change. While we do believe that thoughtfully considered change leads to better outcomes, we appreciate the reminder that how we manage change is very important to the business and our employees. Really appreciate the specific comments about inside sales compensation. We will absolutely give consideration to finding a balance between short term compensation and a notion of residuals as a way to find a balance that leads to retention of our top performers. Please continue to share your feedback - it is appreciated! Thank you, Paul Gilman EVP Sales
