Pros

Paid weekly, but also "weakly" paid!

Cons

Paid less than minimum wage! Obvious favoritism when it came to scheduled hours per week, , as well as unrealistic expectations put on employees who worked on just the sales floor. Employees were unhappy at work and it was very apparent to customers shopping there. Incomplete training program for new-hires, company rules were not always met by every manager. Managers were very unhelpful, unappreciative, and over-worked. Employees were either over-worked or complaining that they didn't get scheduled enough hours to make it worth it to work there. A very unhappy, disturbing, and gloomy work environment. I would not recommend working at this company to anyone, no matter what job "title" they apply for. Most of the employees I worked with have quit by now as well. One of the worst retail jobs I've ever experienced in my 15 years of retail employment.

Pros

If you enjoy retail and organizing clothing I would recommend this job to you. It a decent entry level retail job. You are able to learn and get experience in any or all departments that interest you, from working the registers, to inventory, customer service, electronics, or clothing departments its a great way to learn all aspects of retail.

Cons

Working long hours on your feet for basically minimum wage. You are constantly on your feet and running around the store helping customers. The store can get quite messy and unorganized due to how large the department store is.

Pros

They pay salary to employees

Cons

It is unbelievable how such a company can exist in silicon valley. The culture is still like a 3rd world country. Employees are treated like commodity. All the work is outsourced to India. Employees are forced to stay awake late nights many times a week. There are back to back calls at night and immediately early morning with companies in India who perform work for Kohls. Those employees who do not attend calls are targeted soon and directly or indirectly threatened. Inspite of repeated feedback during surveys, the senior management do not heed to any such feedback. The company informed last year that it will put in place a release team due to which no employee has to remain awake at nights. However, the release team itself is not willing to stay awake at nights. Due to this all the employees are make to remain awake full nights during release. About 20 to 30 employees join night time calls which run till 3am or 4 am or sometimes well up to next day 3pm or 4pm ! Senior management also join the call, however they do not declare their names on call or do not write their names while joining audio conference and thus remain anonymous. This helps them keep track of who is joining and target employees who do not join night time meetings. There is absolute zero work-life balance. A senior most executive has threatened to not give a single holiday to employees after august. This person openly asked people to not take holidays in august during a big company meeting. There is zero technical work. Software engineers are hired by promising that they will work on cutting edge technology. Turns out they do not write a single line of code. Poor souls make spreadsheets tracking bugs and assigning to team in India. Senior management tries to be nice when talking to employees, however they keep track of people who slog day and night and reward them. Sycophancy is the only way to remain in good books of senior management. Unless you agree to Senior management in everything they tell you will be shown the door. If Senior management likes you , your birthday will be celebrated with great pomp in whole company. And guess what, the employees pay for the birthday parties. Each employee spends approximately 40 to 80 dollars per month on others birthday parties ! The bigger sycophant you are, the bigger cake you get on your birthday .
