Pros

if you work hard and dont cause any trouble you advance real quick. If your a full timer your guarnteed 36 hours a week. vacation, benefits all that jazz

Cons

now even though that is great. the excitement only last so long. your asked to work long hours. most of the time you close one night just to open the next, close and then open again. yes they give you exactly 8 hours in between but what kind of life is that. dont try to better yourself by going to school and trying to work at kohls ever. they say they accomidate but its a joke. if your part time and this is your only job i feel for you. becuase your only going to get 10 hours a week and make little to nothing. most of the time there only 4 people on the floor all day so be expected to do everything perfectly and leave exshausted and never get a thank you or great job. and the minute you have a suggestion or complaint consider that your resignation becuase now management is going to find a reason to fire you and get a replacement. the job sucks the people suck the company sucks

Pros

-Employee discount (15% can get up to 35% at random times) -Will hire someone with no experience/ diploma -Very flexible work hours -Occasional great customers -Health benefits -You get personal and vacation time (However, you will have no say as to when you get to use it)

Cons

-Flexible hours actually means you'll get the least amount of hours possible -Little to no actual training, you're going to have to figure everything out on your own -About 80% of the people you're going to deal with are angry about something (But this is typical in retail.) -Management is messy and unorganized -If you're uncomfortable with soliciting credits you'll be told to "Suck it up" -Almost no opportunities to advance within the company, even if you're a great employee

Pros

Good pay and Benefits for Managers Good employee discount Strong retailer Training offered Learn many new ways to handle customers and employee situations

Cons

It is retail which means you have NO work life balance. When you work for Kohls they OWN you, especially as a manager. If you enjoy holidays now, you won't while working at Kohls. The hours the store is very bad for employees. If you have a personal emergency there is no real way to get time off without messing up all your co-managers schedules. This makes life very difficult. Communication on all levels is very poor. As a manager it was very difficult to manage associates because often times you did not have all the answers. It was fly by the seat of your pants type environment. Training is offered but not training in what is relevent to your every day job. The workload was very difficult to manage because there was never enough payroll to finish a project correctly. Upper management never wanted to hear the truth about what was going on in the store. They only wanted to hear the "right" answer.
