Pros

Nice Associates and Area Supervisors, willing to help. Hired as Seasonal and the expectations were communicated appropriately. Negotiated a hiring starting hourly pay-with much persistence on my part-I guess they really wanted me! I understand the push for Credit Cards and E-mails, that other's have complained about. These are both HUGE revenues producers for a Company and they want to keep their share holders happy.

Cons

Initial orientation was done well. Computer Based Training-too much to do in one sitting-rather boring and repetitive-after many years in retail, a group setting with interaction is much more effective and makes for a better learning experience. POS system extremely cumbersome and initial training is insufficient-especially for PT Temp holiday hires who are expected to jump in and essentially learn the system and procedures on their own. I kind of felt feed to the wolves...

Pros

Great interaction with all associates. Everyone worked together and supported each other when needed. The associated helped in other departments when there was a shortage, not that they were complimented on by management.

Cons

* NO TRAINING!! How ironic that the "store trainer" was never given any proper training. "Oh we used to do that, but not anymore" is what I was told. The store manager then told me I was using it as a "crutch" and to just get over it and move it. * No respect given to the associates by management. They would usually talk AT you and not to you. * The never-ending quest for credits. When we were making credits, then the focus was on email. Enough was never enough. * Always understaffed. People were only getting 4 - 8 hours in a week, but they'd never give them more hours. With the holiday season fast approaching, they were told they'd be getting more hours. They didn't . Instead, more associates were hired. Gee, that makes complete sense. * Probably the worse job experience I've ever had. From lack of training and proper guidance, to a store manager who was OCD and constantly micro-managing all those around her.
