Pros

Good resources available for employees, including ARE study materials, computer software.

Cons

Revolving door like most firms. Upward mobility within the firm is getting harder (used to be 3 years, then 5, now 6+ to get promoted). Promotion is very tied to who you work for. People working directly under the company president get promoted faster than everyone else. Promotions are also detached from compensation so your added responsibilities do not come with additional income.

Pros

Some people are nice.

Cons

Hard-working visa holders are being used by the company and not getting the appreciation they deserve. KPF will not enter you for H1B lottery until your STEM expires, will not give you are proper raise or bonus base on your achievement, and will not help you with your green card until your H1B expires. The first round of promotion only happens after you spend 5 years in the firm, whether you work hard or not. Very unfair to the people much talented. I have seen people became very irresponsible after being promoted. Very depressing working environment.

Pros

Good starting salary even if you know no one, better salary if you know any of the principals. Salary goes up if you work with/know Jamie von Klemperer. Will pay for licensure exams.

Cons

Nepotism and only uses diversity/ DEI to look like they care (they do not). KPF does not respect work/life balance and will make you work long hours sick. Will only compensate overtime for the few people they like (again nepotism). HR is NOT to be trusted. If you're a Black person, they will use and abuse you and you will be a token for Black History Month. Office culture at all levels does not care to understand diversity or the role of NOMA. To all the Black designers and architects, you have been warned.
