- Attention of management on the technology side is divided between Toronto and Costa Rica. Employees typically aren't aware of the open-door policy to speak to management with most feeling intimidated. Employees in the past have been fired for strongly expressing their concerns. No HR.
- Run as an old boy's club (bro culture). Favouritism is rampant, be prepared to "fooz and booze"and beer pong for a promotion.
- Roles are glorified, most architects there are intermediate-senior developers. I've witnessed poor technical implementations by an architect simply to avoid work.
- No processes for career development, the general vibe of employees that are still there is that "they're comfortable" and okay with the status quo. If you want to hone your skills and master your craft, it will have to be on your own time.
