Pros

Some the best reasons to work for Kroger, in particular the Kroger Transportation Center, is the fact that you will learn a lot about Supply chain, even with little to know experience if you really want to be there.

Cons

Leadership is chosen and put in place due to mostly likeability, not skill. My experience with my most current supervisor is always finding someone to blame for shortcomings other than themselves when that is the case. Beware of Leadership and what can be very underhanded tactics. They will try to coerce you into promotion if you excel at your role, which is fine if that is your choice. If you do not want that or or fall out of favor, they will plan and scheme to either terminate you or create such a toxic , abusive, and unprofessional environment that you will have no choice but to quit for your mental and physical health.

Pros

Health insurance is affordable compared to some employers

Cons

15 minute visit times when the covid/ flu tests take 15 minutes to even process. You work without a PCT many times. You have a 15 minute visit time. This is impossible to check someone in, verify their insurance, take their copay, get their vitals, do an HPI, run a 15 min covid test, take their entire health history, examine them, write a prescription, educate them, document all of this... all in 15 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. Angry patients because of the long wait times. Nationwide PCP shortage has you seeing much more complex patients than what is appropriate for this setting. High turnover in patient care technicians and providers. Due to high turnover in providers, you will be called in on your on call days. This can have you working 6 out of 7 days of the week. Weekday hours are 8am-830pm. They expect you to be there 30 mins before the clinic opens and 1 hour after the clinic closes. (I hope you don't have a family, enjoy sleep, or have anything you enjoy outside of a stressful workday.) Long hours- 8am to 830pm during the week. With shortened visit times (now 15 mins), you will be there much later than 830pm trying to catch up on orders and charting. Terrible PTO- 11 hours accumulated per month. That is less than 5.5 hours every 2 weeks.

Pros

Good benefits, great networking, employee discounts

Cons

Look up the Evan Seyfried case to get an understanding of the culture in the stores. GO (general office) makes decisions on budgets and standards for the stores without any understanding or compassion for the employee's well-being. People are stressed and overworked. It's also very toxic in the stores.
