Pros
Since the hospital is small, employees quickly get to know each other. It's nice knowing that you can come to work and say good morning to everybody because in some shape or form, you had to work or meet with with them at one point. As a result, the turnover rate here is relatively low. We even have had employees who have worked at Kuakini for over 40 years. Consequently, when employees are happy, they are also more friendly to our guests who have to visit the hospital. Their everyday smiles are testament to this.
Cons
The current healthcare atmosphere across the nation creates challenges for hospitals, especially for small, Medicare dependent hospital, such as Kuakini. Kuakini is currently adapting to that atmosphere.
