Pros

Not bad benefit package. Job security. Non stress environment, good work/life balance: you do not need to care about the job,can do nothing the whole day (oh, is this a pros?)

Cons

Not healthy work environment. A lot of politics. You are less than nothing if you are not Japanese or Chinese. As soon you cross the office threshold, you travel in time and space from CA to Japan, from freedom to slavery. Nobody cares if your work brings any result, just show your effort and report in the way that your manager likes and you are fine. Management treats employees as middle school kids - they have not caught you yet, but you surely did something wrong. The important factors during performance evaluation are what time you come to work, leave, how many times you go to the kitchen, who you are speaking to during the work hours, your attitude to company philosophy and ability to communicate in Japanese way. Your work contribution, skills and knowledge weight about 30%.
