The discounts and the employee only store.

Cons

They lie and tell employees that their jobs are not affected if they have to leave in an emergency situation. The employee is thrown under the bus and told that they are not valuable enough to be treated fairly. I have worked for L.L. Bean for over 10 years and I'm done being treated like I don't matter.

Pros

Great core company values, great co-workers, good discount on products, generous bonus. Working with smart committed people who truly believe in the mission and values of the company. Great culture.

Cons

Never enough time or resources to get everything done well. High standards of presentation and customer service are expected but payroll is cut to the bone with constant pressure to cut expenses. Our relatively high starting pay for reps used to attract great talent but since it has been cut to par with other retailers it is very hard to find and keep good workers.

Benefits, discounts, good working environment.

Cons

Appears to be favoritism within the ranks - not a major issue, but truly noticeable. Conversely, some obvious under-performers seem to stick around, whereas some good workers get cut. Not saying that you're not rewarded or lauded for good performance, it's just that "the curve" is not there. You never really know where you stand.
