Pros

The people are lovely and they train you well.

Cons

Pay is horrible. It doesn’t reflect the degrees and experience people have.

Pros

Great colleagues and sports and social events. Great opportunities to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities. Some degree of job security. Flexible working and TOIL. Benefits are pretty good and make lower salaries more manageable.

Cons

Focus in very much on profits over people. A culture of doing too much overtime and high stress levels is now accepted by most, and job satisfaction can be very low for those working hard but apparently getting nowhere. Very little recognition and reward for top performers. Such a shame.

Pros

Employees gain some skills across various areas.

Cons

Take advantage of graduates who wish for a career in forensics. Completely underpay and over work staff. Do not take work life balance into consideration at all. Managers will push and do not care what time staff stay until (past midnight) to get work done. You can only climb the career ladder by being the managers best friend. H&S is a serious worry. They make you work with new chemicals without any of the appropriate H&S materials. Make a lot of promises about training/progression. Only to be let down. Make a big fuss about team socials but they are forever cancelled because you can not keep up with the amount of work. Too many people leaving compared to the amount coming in. Make it seem like paradise when you join, only to be let down.
