Pros

Okay benefits, great team environment when the sales manager fosters one, good bonuses and employee recognition. Loved my time here under a great manager who of course then got promoted and replaced with someone that did not have the same people managing skills.

Cons

Office managers do the most work aside from construction managers and get paid the least. Micromanaging sales managers can make your life a living hell and cause you to loose all motivation. There is not too much room for advancement from this position. You either have to move to Houston and work at corporate for not much more money, or move laterally into sales.

Thank you for your feedback. It is disappointing to hear that you feel this way about our company. Overall, your comments to management are not a true reflection of our company or core values. We value employee’s feedback, both former and current, so we hope you shared these suggestions with HR during your exit interview. Best of luck.

Pros

Headquarters is across the street from the Woodlands Mall and it's nice to be able to go over there at lunch time... when you GET a lunch break.

Cons

Absolutely no work/life balance. They have no respect for your personal time and just automatically assume you have no life and can work until 9pm (or later) every single night. I also did not like the cult-like atmosphere. There are people who work there who say the cheesy catch phrases like they are ingrained into their soul. They say these phrases without even thinking... like robots. My advice to you is: If you love your family and want to eat dinner with them at night, don't work here; if you enjoy helping your children at night with their homework, don't work here; if you have older parents that need extra attention, don't work here; and if you do not like the taste of Kool-Aid, don't work here.

Thank you for the review. As a former employee, you know that we embrace a rich company culture here at LGI Homes. You are absolutely correct - you will hear many culture points and phrases referred to around our offices each day. This is something we are extremely proud of, as our employees are true ambassadors of the LGI Way, living out our culture on a daily basis. We are disappointed to hear that this was not a mutual fit. We are concerned regarding your comments about work/life balance, as working each day past 9pm is not a true reflection of life at Corporate. We hope you expressed these concerns during your exit interview with HR so they can be addressed with the proper management. We strive to maintain a supportive work environment ensuring employees have all the tools to succeed, as well as stay happy and healthy. Best of luck in the future!

Great company, but don't even bother interviewing for sales.

Pros

The owner, CEO, corporate office, etc... are good people. The company is stable, profitable, and not going anywhere. They are truly different from other home builders in a good way.

Cons

You will get 20 leads a day from direct mailers to ghetto apartment areas, and are told to set appointments even if the customer states "I have a 420 credit score, do you take section 8?"
