Pros

Rewarding work supporting people in career transition Great team with upbeat, personable and bright colleagues and a collegiate environment. High level of autonomy. Flexible hours as you control your own calendar. Good hourly rate (however impossible to get an increase). Resourceful programs for clients. Good brand.

Cons

Focus on KPIs means that consultant's hours are capped - and clients are directed to online tools/webinars instead. Part-time work only and increasingly "quiet" periods where there is little work for consultants - which can be highly stressful. Work no longer intellectually stimulating. Management is distant and not transparent. Culture is transactional.

Pros

Are genuine in delivering talent services to individuals and organisations. Have long tenured employees which equally means organisation does not have a performance culture.

Cons

Executive team and senior leadership team have very limited ability to reflect on themselves and the business and ask the hard questions in terms of whats working and whats not. The business would like to work collaboratively and be known for meaningful debates but actually can't handle conflict and difficult conversations. No real vision articulated for this business for the future!

Great People - poor leadership

Pros

Great people who care about the clients and candidates. The majority of staff collaborate well.

Cons

New employees aren't given proper onboarding or support; Management does not support their team members when disagreements arise regarding commission splits. Quotas are unreasonable for new salespeople (not developed with much strategy); sales credit on existing accounts is split between New Rep, Rep who formerly had the account (even though they no longer support the account at all), and the house account. There are several ways to reduce the commission payable. Huge focus on costs to the point of being unreasonable.
