Pros

Used to have lots of fun events and parties. Open bar on two floors. Heaps of snacks. Fun yummy coffee carts and food catering. Virtual work.

Cons

On the surface, everyone smiles and pats you on the back. In annual reviews they praise your "great work." Then you get to what matters, a corporate environment rife with politics, hypocrisy and two-faced behavior. Backstabbing and gossip flows freely. Management plays favorites shamelessly, turning a blind eye to the open secret that people routinely trash each other behind closed doors. The worming internal politics and lack of transparency is astounding. Critical decisions are driven more by a spoiled and miopic CFO who always has to get their way than by any coherent vision or strategy from the CEO who seems more interested in playing pretend and stroking their own ego than truly leading. Bad decisions are made constantly based on incomplete information. The true leader and visionary is the President. She's who should run the company. This culture leads to a lot of amazing talent being driven away or marginalized in favor of yes-women and brown-nosers. Good luck speaking truth to power or going against the grain in any way. That's the quickest way to being "consolidated" in an unpublished "layoff" that only affects you. Inexperienced, young, pretty favorites get promoted over hardworking, experienced veterans constantly. Unless you're content sipping the LTK Kool-Aid and joining their circle of mutual mediocrity, I'd steer clear. There are far healthier corporate cultures out there that actually practice the "family" values they preach. LTK is all rotten at its core despite the sugary-sweet external branding.

TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT

Pros

The company events were the only pros. They would rather spend thousands on events than paying a decent salary

Cons

Management is the absolute worse. They talk down to you and belittle you. I was threatened many times. I was told, "If I'm going to get s*** for this, you are too" several times. Basically, no diversity and the number of conversations I heard about their excuses for lack of diversity was absolutely pathetic - as well as the reasons as to why they don't feature POC in their Instagram. You are expected to work way more than your 40 hours and for the low salary, not worth it. The entire team was used to receiving messages late at night and on weekends with requests to work. I'm still in shock as to how their management team talks to their employees. The most toxic workplace I have worked at. Don't let their Instagram account trick you, it's not as fun as it appears. Being micromanaged was a huge problem too. JUST STAY AWAY.

Pros

Personable, friendly, and talented coworkers. A few less of those now though.

Cons

Unsecure big brother software on company laptops. Below market compensation. Unimpressive benefits. Talent fleeing company. New policy against professional development. Demeaning review process. Indecisive product team. Design bottleneck in the C-suite. Dedication and loyalty are no longer valued, despite the continued claim that rS is a family. Changes in HR and Engineering upper management have led to deceptive and exploitive practices. As a result, honest and trustworthy people have been pushed to the outskirts while political ladder climbing is encouraged and rewarded.
