Pros

- Great group of people to work with (#1 strength of rS is the people) in engineering, product and project management, QA, etc. It's easy to make friends with the people you work with. - Lots of interesting projects - Modern tech for new stuff (Go + Python, AWS ecosystem) - Recent positive changes in compensation levels and career 'tracks' - Nice perks for food / drinks / etc. ...free skeleton hands at company Halloween events ...

Cons

- Lots of turnover recently - Engineers are underappreciated (though this is changing) - Pretty low compensation compared to market (though this is changing) - Engineering priorities change frequently, projects are cancelled just before being deployed - this can feel very capricious and demoralizing.

Solid place to work

Pros

- being a small company, it matters if you show up every day - opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them - tremendous growth potential and opportunities to be exposed to things happening globally - mostly flat organization, though hierarchy is creeping in with the new VP's

Cons

- the company is in an awkward phase of growth and this phase isn't right for everyone - the "leadership" of the company was mostly hired in the last half of 2017 and with little knowledge of the company or industry are making most of the decisions. Time will tell if this is a good decision or not. - poor execution of some strategic decisions by leadership over the last 4-5 months (as evidenced by other reviews)

Pros

Personable, friendly, and talented coworkers. A few less of those now though.

Cons

Unsecure big brother software on company laptops. Below market compensation. Unimpressive benefits. Talent fleeing company. New policy against professional development. Demeaning review process. Indecisive product team. Design bottleneck in the C-suite. Dedication and loyalty are no longer valued, despite the continued claim that rS is a family. Changes in HR and Engineering upper management have led to deceptive and exploitive practices. As a result, honest and trustworthy people have been pushed to the outskirts while political ladder climbing is encouraged and rewarded.
