Pros

Interesting and continuously changing projects

Cons

- they will recruit you as a “top 3%” company - it’s not even top 60% (trust me) - openly known problems not being addressed - as a person NOT from the US you will be called “offshore people” - people are being thrown from project to project, no consideration of well functioning teams - projects usually planned without a QA - Working on VDIs all the time - extremely badly managed ci/cd on 95% of the projects - they made me pay for a community event, they haven’t paid me back in half year, and when i left the company they said they won’t be able to repay me anymore :) - probably the worst company i ever worked for - and i’ve been working at several already

"Steep learning curve but pays off!"

Pros

People are really great about giving others the freedom to pursue interests and explore new ideas and methodologies. There's a lot of trust - I feel like I can really own the direction of my career and build skills in many areas. Plus, Lab49 is doing interesting work in humanizing complex domains and making them more accessible and intuitive. I'm also part of a few of communities that have popped up organically and help make the transition onto these projects much easier and collaborative. I think one of the great things about consulting is the steep learning curve - keeps you on your toes and always growing. So many people here are amazing at their jobs - there are a lot of experts to learn from.

Cons

Even though financial services is known to be behind the curve and there are ancient legacy systems, we are modernizing that through new methods, ideas and tech. The work can be hard and challenging with different clients. You have to be adaptable and able to switch directions quickly.
