Pros

The environment in pathology is great (can't be said about other departments) and you are doing work that makes a difference. You learn a lot of different histology skills that can bulk up your resume and there's a decent amount of movement in the department. Opportunities for overtime and making more money.

Cons

Work is boring and repetitive. Management is not receptive to criticism and there is a high turn-over rate. It's a good short term job (~1-2 years), but not anything to commit to. Workflow is very heavy in summer and light in winter, and mandatory overtime is required. Quantity > quality, but all of your work depends on the people in front of you in the production line, so expect criticism for issues that you didn't contribute to. High turnover rate means none of the quality issues will really be fixed.
