low pay, and questionable pay amongst others that doesn't seem to match education or experience level, upper management is not great and get written up for talking too much, growth/training is questionable

Upper management does not care about you if you don't directly make the company money. There is a promotional ladder for techs that maxes out after 7 years with a very slim chance to move anywhere else in the company. It does not matter how good you are at your job or how many extra tasks you take on, you will only be promoted at your yearly review. No one gets a perfect review no matter the work ethic.

Upper management makes questionable decisions

Upper management has a bad habit of using and abusing employees. any problems brought to them are met with "just hang in there, it will get better." and no attempts are made to fix the problem. Upper management only cares about the statistics on their paperwork and not what is actually happening in the lab. I have been told that I need to stay as long as it takes to get the job done and yelled at in the same day for working an overly long shift. Racism is horrible in this location because there is no onsite HR. I was told, by a coworker, when I hired in that I am "just the white boy management brought in to try and show up all us black folks." on my second day in department. When horrible incidents are brought forward that could affect safety of results it is ignored unless it affects the companies pocket

Sometimes new policies come out and they are initially harsh, but are made more reasonable in relatively short order.

I passed my 1 year anniversary at Labcorp 3 months ago, and I am therefore entitled to a promotion (from Techno Trainee to Molecular Technologist) and a pay raise. I have not received either. It has been 3 months. My supervisor submitted the promotion, my manager approved the promotion, and now it's been sitting in the inbox of some upper management person for 3 months with no update. I am no longer in training and have in fact been training others, but my job title and pay do not reflect this. Several of my fellow coworkers are in the same situation, and we are all extremely frustrated.

Is there a dress code? For all the rules/procedures that we need to follow for Lab Corp it seems the dress code has gone to pot! People wearing crappy jeans and logo t-shirts (brewery etc); so unprofessional and they look like they walked in off the street! Why do we have to go back 20-30 years computer-wise? for a global company you would think their equipment would be up to date. Benefits are awful. Three times more expensive than what I was paying for decent insurance. Now I have to jump through hoops to get a discount on the insurance which does not make up for the increase I am paying. Also, not many places take Cigna. I'm also getting less vacation time than I was with Baystate. All our techs are leaving so we are screwed and no one cares. We need to get the tracking system in place so upper management can see who does very little work! I was a 38 year employee at Baystate before they sold us out!

Management is extremely micromanaging and doesn't trust experienced employees to complete thier work. There is no accountability in other departments to complete their tasks and it falls on QA when the tasks are late. Continuous process fails that never get resolved. When employees try to suggest improvements they are told to just conform and be quiet. Management dictates and doesn't listen to employees. There is no praise for jobs well done only negative feedback. Management makes up their own processes and doesn't follow company policies so it's hard to know what is to be followed. The applications used to do your work are almost always down and take days to fix. Poor communication from management to employees in staff meetings for changes, then when mistakes are made they don't take accountability. Management doesn't stand up for the team with upper management and makes bad decisions
