Pros

You get Paid cash daily

Cons

Unless you threatheb to quit, you won’t get your raises. They’ll hire girls with no experience at 50% just to staff the shop while too stylists make 40%. You get a 1% raise to be a key holder. Totally not worth it because god forbid life happens and you can’t close, NO ONE will stay for you. Managers and other stylists get treated even better if they do drugs on the job. 1099. Basically, after you pay your taxes on the $15 cut, you walk away with just over $4. YOU pay all credit card processing fees. Their machine doesn’t have a tip option so you have to ask clients if they want to tip you. They don’t take Discover or AMEX. They allow girls that don’t show up because they do too many drugs to stay on the schedule and just expect everyone else to pick up the slack rather than just taking care of the good and getting rid of the bad stylists. Regional managers don’t actually care about how you feel, they just don’t want you to quit. They’ll tell you anything to keep you.. including promise promotions and raises then later say “hah just kidding”. They purposely give store management positions to girls that they know don’t have the drive to do better. They tell regional managers that they have this big awesome position but really they are just there to make sure that shifts are covered.

Pros

You can pick your schedule.

Cons

Lower than average commission rate for the industry, objectifying toward women, if you are being sexually harassed you aren't allowed to ban clients from salon, corporate is useless, my store was falling apart and they didn't care. Force you to work even when there's no clients and you are literally making zero dollars. They will hire anyone- I can't tell you how many drug addicts I've worked with who do drugs in the bathroom or in their car. Getting fired is impossible which sucks for the people who actually do their jobs. Management never says thank you no matter how hard you work.

Pros

Paid daily. If motivated you can make good money.

Cons

My manager is the best I’ve ever had but my regional manager is terrible. This company does not care at all about you as a stylist, your shop, (I.e ours is falling apart) , how hard you work. I can’t even begin to explain how poorly our hard working shop is treated. No one recognizes us for our good work, consistently, averages, except our manager. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS HOW MUCH MONEY YOU’RE MAKING THEM while they don’t do anything. They don’t care if you’re short staffed, they don’t care if you’re working in a 89 degree shop with sweating clients and grumpy stylist. The only reason I worked her for awhile is because my manager is amazing, my staff is amazing, and my clientele is awesome.
