great co-workers, clueless management
Pros
Co-workers are very supportive and helpful, which is nice because the turnover is so high, if they didn't help each other, no one would have any clue what to do. The facility is beautiful and the patients like to go outside in the courtyards.
Cons
UHS is awful. The management team is clueless as to what happens on the floor or how to perform simple patient care tasks. Scheduling is atrocious, they are always short-staffed and asking staff to come in on days off, which leads to everyone being burned out. The entire scheduling system was changed with minimal notice, first come first serve, leading to staff having issues with child care and custody agreements. They do not care about patient experience, only about filling the beds, and will put roommates in with patients who have demonstrated violence toward peers. Patients have assaulted multiple peers and staff with no consequence. Higher ups come in and designate how to handle behavioral situations even though they are not clinical staff, so nursing autonomy does not exist.
