Pros

The organizations mission and product are highly relevant.

Cons

Poor executive leadership and behavior bleeds throughout this organization. Positions turn and/or are eliminated constantly creating disruption, distraction and disproportionate workloads for teams.

Pros

The people that you work with, some are very helpful and I enjoyed working with them.

Cons

All the cons in the world, supervisors are terrible and play favorite and have no real experience in a supervisory other than being at the company for longer than others. Micromanage you to death, monitor your every move so you stay in queue as long as possible. Offer no real help for ca’s and the lack of training is terrible as they teach you once and expect for you to excel without proper guidance. Supervisors are never at their desk, they’re either in a “meeting” or making Starbucks runs. Do not work here if you are not ready for unrealistic deadlines and personable supervisors all around the same age that do not know what they’re doing. Worst company I have ever worked for. This job is supposed to be about the member and empathy but quality control will run your scores into the ground and keep you from attaining bonuses because of instances they do not like. There is no consistency within the job as far as management, supervisors and case work. Every one has different ways of doing the job so you never get cut and dry answers. The break time is atrocious and they have no respect for employees with real life issues and expect you to be a robot. They will not let you work from home unless you are “sick” but will hound you to prove that something is wrong with you and once they find out you’re sick they will not let you work from home.

Hi - Thank you for the thoughtful feedback. I am sorry to hear you feel you were not properly trained for your role with our team, All of our Care Advocates go through extensive training for nearly 6 weeks. Throughout that training, new hires have the opportunity to complete multiple exams to ensure they understand all of the various components of the role. Care Advocates are required to pass a final exam before speaking with members. Over the last year that team has almost tripled in size! Fortunately, this has created promotional opportunities within that team- allowing us to promote several people from Care Advocate to supervisor. This has been a great training opportunity for people who are ready to take on leadership roles within our company. As newer leaders within our company, we intend to provide more support and focus on enhancing those skills so they can successfully guide and lead the team. It is true as we have scaled we have evolved our processes and we have faced consistency challenges. To solve that we have brought in a knowledge management team and are excited to soon launch more accessible on demand resources to better equip our CAs! It is also true that this team works onsite. This ensures we can maintain high quality standards for our clients and members, and allow for real time support when needed- as every case is different. When employees are sick, we do not encourage them to work from home, instead we prefer they take paid time off so they have ample time to rest and recover. We appreciate all of the feedback, and will be sure to take the information back to our team so we can ensure these things are top of mind as we continue to grow our team.

Pros

1) Meaningful Mission: Prior to Employer Direct Healthcare, I spent my career at a number of incredibly large and well-known companies. While they were all perceived as great places to work, they were all lacking the one thing that is most exciting about working for Employer Direct Healthcare. They all lacked the ability to work for a Company that is truly making a meaningful difference on people's lives and wellbeing. The company is dedicated to addressing some of the fundamental issues in the healthcare system in terms of uncontrollable costs, poor quality and lack of transparency. Through the SurgeryPlus solution, the company creates the opportunity for ordinary people to receive affordable, higher quality care for their complex healthcare needs. The ability to work for a company where I know we are positively impacting people's lives is by far the most rewarding aspect of working for Employer Direct. 2) Senior Leadership: The ensemble of individuals assembled on the Company's leadership team is second to none. They are passionate about our mission and work tirelessly to provide a solution worthy of the members who use it. They're all deeply experienced in their areas of expertise and make everyone who works for them better. 3) Opportunity: While in existence since 2011, in many ways, the Company still operates like a start-up, offering significant opportunity for top performers to quickly increase their role and assume additional responsibilities. Hard work is rewarded and people who show promise can quickly rise within the organization.

Cons

Not so much a "con", but good to know going in. Expectations from executives are extremely high. Employer Direct hires and retains extremely talented individuals and those individuals expect the best from employees at every level. For some, these expectations can be overwhelming, but for those who are passionate about the Company's mission and who excel in a fast past environment, these expectations create better, higher skilled employees that are empowered to find ways new ways to positively impact people's lives.
