This Place Should Be Shut Down!

Pros

Free breakfast & lunch daily, free covered parking, smart entry-level employees, decent work/life balance, easy access to the freeway, decent benefits and 401k plan.

Cons

Severe micromanaging from senior managers and CIO. Projects take weeks longer than normal due to the inflated egos from the top of the chain, wanting their ideas to outshine fellow managers. One of the biggest problems is that the technology is 5+ years behind and nothing is changing. Mistakes are always pointed out and good work never gets rewarded. The pay is low and don't expect to see any sort of raise during your employment. If you're a fresh grad looking for experience, stick it out as long as possible but look for better opportunities ASAP. Luckily, all entry-level employees hate their jobs at Laserfiche, so you'll gain a close knit group of friends in a short amount of time.

The truth behind closed doors

Pros

This company has a lot of great benefits – fully paid healthcare, catered lunch everyday (but even that gets boring because it’s the same thing each week), and matched 401K. This company hires a lot of VERY talented individuals who have the potential to take this organization to new heights. If you’re looking for a fun, young workplace, this is definitely a place for you. You’ll make a lot of lasting friendships, but unfortunately, that’s really all you gain from here. If that’s enough for you, then apply here.

Cons

Where do I even start? Each department is different, but A LOT of the department managers run the same as the Executive team. They only care about their own personal development within the company. They are really good at masking that to their staff by giving them unreasonable work. The CIO was brought on early last year. He was expected to make a lot of good changes, but did the complete opposite. I don’t know how he turns a blind eye to it, but he is really the main cause of the high turnover rates in the company. He's very self absorbed and he asks to control EVERY decision that goes in and out of the company. There is no consideration for employees’ workload and time. I’d also be surprised if there wasn’t a conversation that started with “I know the CEO from….”. There is an internal process change every 2 weeks. But here’s the catch, no one ever knows about it. Nepotism is highly practiced here, so I wouldn't expect any major executive changes soon. Oh, but this company provides unlimited snacks and breakfast! Well, even the snacks are micromanaged. They’re placed in old jars and reused so the amount of snacks is equal each week. There’s even an inventory list to prove it on each floor. The only team that really doesn’t have a high turnover rate is probably Software Development. From my experience, almost all of the managers are 1) passive when it comes to questioning ethics in the workplace 2) condescending to you if you are new or not a manager, and 3) for some odd reason, they all pit themselves against each other for promotion. Vacation or Sick time is given, but discouraged if you actually use it. They ask to be involved in every decision you make, and often lack patience. Don’t bother telling HR about your problems. They are for the company and will likely just give you the “at-will” speech. You’re also very underpaid, but there’s a reason why this company is always “growing”. At this rate, most people leave within 6 months to a year. Also, don't listen to any reviews that give this place 4 stars and a couple compliments. There's a reason you see only 1 out of every 20 or so reviews.
