Pros

New, high-growth potential industry Team outside of leadership extremely welcoming No gatekeeping of knowledge and tips among peers

Cons

Lack of diversity is extremely obvious. LeafLink did layoffs (and no press about it - no surprise they kept it hidden as per other reviews hiding debt) and it seems like the people laid off were all women and/or people of color - disgusting. Enormous pay disparity among members of the same team having equal responsibilities and similar roles. Stay away from LeafLink as an employer if you're a women or minority-identifying; you'll get pigeon-holed into one role with minimal growth and probably not paid equally.

Pros

Great gateway job into cannabis. Low competence in leadership, so easy to play the game and exercise some options without breaking much of a sweat. Only a few at the top are able to adequately identify talent.

Cons

Leadership. Shiny object syndrome. Horrible morale. Poor direction. Talent exodus. Poorly defined swim lanes.

Bloated org

Pros

- The space has a huge amount of potential. To some extent, the company is taking advantage of it. - Good benefits, pay and conditions if you can get them. - Individually, people are very nice and supportive

Cons

- Extremely bloated organization (engineering and product in my experience) - even after a whooping FOUR rounds of layoffs (all in 2022) it is probably still bloated. Totally reckless hiring. - Many people with middle of the pack to subpar work experience have taken the opportunity afforded by a bloated engineering / product culture to prop themselves up on top of a house of cards org that is way too complex for the business the company is actually doing. So many corporate layers, so little actual work done, impact or value created. The downturn has revealed this extremely poor approach. - This makes career advancement really difficult for everyone but a select few insiders and loyalists. Extremely political environment overall. - Really unethical way of conducting business. Paying lip service to all kinds of great values but not living up to the majority of them
