Pros

Working for Lee in the marketing world is like selling the very best of every make of car, truck and suv. They are unmatched in what they can do and what they can offer customers. Lee Enterprises is without a doubt the industry Leader in all thing digital, social, email, print and a i am speaking very lightly when i say digital marketing. Because they provide and offer any kid of digital marketing that is out on the market place and they do it better. So, when it comes to sales and Marketing your job here won't be that difficult if you know your marketing in and out! Your customers will love you and you will gain a ton of knowledge by learning from your mistakes.

Cons

A huge downfail that for the 3 locations i worked under was that the hierarchy had no idea what was going on most of the time. i worked for over a 1 1/2 years and i was very good as sales had a degree in marketing but this was my first real marketing only job. At first as i started to train myself and read and try and understand how and what this company sold, what the company had named the different types of marketing and how and what would work where and for who the best. I jumped right in taking over accounts helping customers answering questions giving advise that i really had no clue how to answer. I asked and asked for training so that i could be better all around and understand what the company had to offer and how i went about selling or ever starting a campaign. No, one had ever attempted to sell or push anything other than a small handful of products and they were enough to really help our bigger customers out or keep our local business from signing up with other companies offering the same things we had at a cheaper price and ours was 100x better. the more i pushed for instruction and knowledge the bigger the wall i would hit. I started to email the people in charge of the particular type of marking i was looking to sell and learn about and within days i found myself on a conference call with the head director telling me i have stepped out of the chain of command and i was not to ever do that aging. i assured them that i would not but i had been here for a year and still have not had 10 min of training to show me which way to turn or how to sell or even how to ring up theses bigger media marketing tools we have. Needless to say i never could get anyone to show me and i believe its because no one in the offices i worked in had any idea to how to do it themselves. i felt that i could have broke records and created so much new business that it would have made myself, the company, and the business very happy all around. At the end of the day when you have no direction and they only time you ever see a head of a org is the end of the month when sales numbers for the company are down and they just yell and push specials and cheep marketing. Then they disappear for a month and come back asking the same questions doing the same madness. NO... Fix the Management, Training, and you will have a Rockstar Business!!

Pros

Coworkers are great. They're the ONLY reason this place can be tolerated.

Cons

Overworked. High stress. No respect. You're just another cog in the machine.

Pros

Co workers are nice. You're in the same boat.

Cons

If not, don't apply here. High turnover (for a reason) and then you get to do their jobs! For no added benefit. And NO thanks, which is even worse.
