Page designer job not for those looking for consistency

Pros

It's great short term work and you learn a lot. The people are very kind and fun to work with. They are very keen on helping you feel comfortable and heard.

Cons

Nobody took lunch breaks. The schedule was extremely flexible and sometimes you could work 6 or 7 days in a row before getting a day off. They are understaffed and often asked if you could work overtime on your days off (one of my coworkers worked an entire month with only one day off).

Pros

No active shooter events, despite employees constantly talking about it happening.

Cons

A lot of sexual bigotry. Jokes made about customers dying and still having products delivered to them. Training came in the form of "why did you not do this?!!" -"I was not aware of this process" -"Well, you should have been doing it for the past several weeks." Being told, not asked, to come in on days off. Told that there were no lunches-if you did insist on taking a lunch, then you would have to wait a minimum of 7-8 hrs before doing so, and then you would have to "make up" the time you took for lunch. Entire focus was on dealing with mistakes and angry customers rather than trying to correct the bad processes and satisfy customers.

Pros

Good parking lot. Benefits are decent although they continue to cut them.

Cons

Corporation - need I say more?! Only interested in revenue. Certain managers have their favorites. Bad morale. Customer service is terrible especially when people call the circulation dept. and get the phone tree.
