Pros

Deadline-driven, interesting, challenging and fast paced environment.

Cons

With newspaper circulation on the decline, the company simply isn’t committed to its employees, just its shareholders and advertisers. Morale is terrible and the press and packaging employees have no sense of job security, regardless of their skill level, work ethic or buy-in. Corporate management seems to lack vision for the long term sustainability and profitability of the printed product, and it shows in their unwillingness to include adequate funding for equipment upgrades, proper maintenance and hourly employee compensation in their budget.
