Pros

I do not feel there are any good pros worth mentioning.

Cons

This is a horrible place to work, with no true leadership in most departments. I have been at the company for years, putting up with verbal abuse and unfair treatment. "Why don't you leave?" Honestly my personal circumstances have made it difficult. However I think someone has to speak up and say something. The company fakes their Glassdoor reviews by asking new employees to post reviews. New employees feel pressured to put up nice reviews, and when they get fired they just leave them up there. This inflates Legalzoom's Glassdoor grade by a lot. Since the company is run by vindictive people, former employees are afraid to say anything. I was at a happy hour recently with other employees, and no one had anything positive to say about the company but everyone was afraid to speak up.

Pros

Paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision benefits. Free meals.

Cons

Virtually no possibility for promotion from within. Those promoted from within are not always deserving of the position they hold. Management does not empower their employees, so there is no pride in ownership. John Suh, books can be written about your habit of not answering questions but rather, painting a vivid picture while you dance around the issue. The prevailing attitude of the Glendale office and its team members being superior to all others in the outlying locations is not only demotivating to the individuals working for the company in these offices, but it feeds an atmosphere of not getting work done. Sales have taken a dip this year. Hard working employees were laid off and sent packing while ineffective managers with little leadership skills remained with their six figure salaries intact.

Pros

-Pay above industry average -Benefits are fine

Cons

Where do I start? I know some people love working at LZ, but I think it completely depends on the team you're on. For me, it was a terrible experience. The only ones that matter to the C-Team are Product/Brand, Sales, and Dev - because they only care about conversions. This is the first place where I've felt like the work I was doing was 1. never once appreciated 2. didn't hold the same value it did at previous companies. And don't get me started on the pettiness internally. If you want to go to a place where politics dominate the workplace, go to LegalZoom. You'll be talked about behind your back, never provided direct feedback, and then smiled to in your face. When it comes to work-life balance - it was non-existent for me. I worked 10-12 hour days most of the time, and expectations were to always be available. I can't tell you how many times I received a Sunday Slack message about something that was a "fire drill." I lived and worked in a constant state of fear-based anxiety that one wrong move would cost me my job. Last but not least, the people. There are a few good ones who genuinely care, but the majority are pretentious and think their opinion is the only right opinion. They also won't announce it publicly but they went through a recent "restructuring" and laid off a lot of really good people who were more than capable. My guess is pressure from leadership and having to validate those jobs that weren't bringing them conversions. Anyway, avoid, avoid, avoid. Find somewhere that actually lives out its values and treats employees well.
