Pros

I loved all of the teams that I worked with. So many smart and talented people are on staff here, and it is insane. The company also takes work-life balance seriously. Which is essential when working remotely

Cons

When I was there, the leadership team decided we were no longer a legal services company but a tech company. As a result, they began pursuing growth strategies at all costs, which is what many big tech companies seek. Since I was on the SEO team and working with organic growth, it often felt like we were not given the time and space to put organic strategies in place because the C-suite wanted results on a dime. SEO was treated more like SEM, where you can adjust your budgets and pull financial levers to help reach your goals. Nothing organic was given time to thrive, so we often changed strategies as we chased C-suite goals.

Pros

Good medical insurance benefits. Also, it is a valuable learning experience for those who want to understand how a publicly traded company should not operate—gain insights here and apply them to succeed in your next company.

Cons

Too many to list. This is the first company where the accounting department feels like an overhead cost rather than a valued function. Processes are stuck in the stone age—month-end entries tracked in Excel and control sign-offs in Google Sheets. There's a constant focus on finding errors and pressure from the top, but little effort to encourage or motivate employees. A 'pay-for-performance' culture is nonexistent, and the same issues persist across all departments.
