Pros

Everyone is at least in agreement that it’s a terrible place to work. You can bond with coworkers over how much you hate your job. Other former employees have told me that if you can be even a tiny bit successful here, everywhere else will feel like a cakewalk. They weren’t kidding.

Cons

Payroll takes 12+ hours to process because the system was made in the mid nineties. I received no training. The office environment was so passive aggressive and catty. I could hear other people in HR laughing about inappropriate things like the weight and personal lives of other employees. Asked for months to get access to the company’s ATS since recruitment was the main part of the role. I was ignored for months and told to track all applicants in an excel spreadsheet.

Pros

The department and Team I worked with was awesome. The team had mostly older people who welcomed me with open arms.

Cons

The corporate office had very subtle racism. Was one of the top most performers in the company but I was never considered for their Future leadership program. Nepotism was high there. Was always asked how I got there fulltime when I was not connected to anyone. For any person of color, they should be careful if they want to consider working there for long term.

Pros

I worked with some great people. I know there are lots of other good ones out there.

Cons

If you want to work here just know that when it comes down to it, Leggett Upper Management will choose the shareholder over you every time. When COVID, hit hundreds of employees were furloughed without pay. Then the layoffs started. I know companies were worried and trying to cut costs but Leggett went too far. They fired hundreds all over the company to cut payroll costs. The worst part was when it came time for dividend discussions, they paid out anyway. They paid HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in dividend payments out to their shareholders while cutting hundreds of jobs! Did they have the right to do this? Of course. But everyone saw it and it told us everything we needed to know. Upper management (major shareholders themselves) received big checks while hundreds of people’s livelihoods were destroyed. PLEASE think long and hard before you work for a company like this. If the opportunity is just too good, then get in, get experience, and GET OUT!
