I was at LegitScript when all the reviews were 5 stars, everyone was happy, programs were being built, etc. I was also there when nearly the entire development team was let go for not being a "culture fit", outside contractors were brought in to do software development, and half the new hires didn't seem to make it through training. So I saw both sides of the company. It was weird, and very sad, and I struggled with leaving because I loved the work and the company, but all the bad Glassdoor reviews are pretty accurate. Being understaffed is definitely a business model. Managers were always begging for resources but there was no way they would ever hire and train anyone before a contract was signed. LegitScript is NOT a tech company. Not at all. It was always uncomfortable working with some actual huge tech companies because LS likes to pretend they have all this great technology that drives their analysis. They don't. It's very manual work. If you stay long enough to lead a team, have fun. Your analysts are underpaid and terrified of losing their jobs. You probably are, too, since you've been there long enough to see solid employees just "decide to move on". You'll notice a lot of the managers are completely milquetoast. This isn't a company that values diverse ideas or discussion of how to improve if that discussion includes criticism of upper management . The pool of managers is mainly made up of people who will just come in, conform, and keep their heads down. There is zero value placed on employees as people. Zero. Your only value there is as a resource. If you aren't good at the job fast enough, you will be let go. If you're leading a team, get used to constantly having to hire and train people. It's a stupid, inefficient way to operate. Having moved on to lead a team at a company that cares about the employees (yes, they exist) let me just say my job there is SO MUCH EASIER than it was at LegitScript because 3 of my 4 reports have been there 5+ years and know the job inside and out. They also feel happy, valued, and safe, and it is reflected in their work. Most of them come in on Saturday or Sunday for a couple extra hours. That is what you get out of employees when you treat them well and care about their happiness. The analyst jobs are very specific to LegitScript and unlikely to translate into other, better jobs elsewhere. Plus, at least when I was there, you had to sign a non-compete, further limiting your ability to get some experience and then bounce.

Yes, the pay could be a little better but money is not everything. I feel that the pros that come with working here outweigh this slight disadvantage by far! Something else that might be worth mentioning is that parking space is limited. On the bright side, the company does make up for it with monthly reimbursements for parking and/or transportation.

I was baited and switched into a job. The job for which I interviewed and was hired was NOT the job I was given. My onboarding was 3 and a half weeks alone in a corner with a laptop and ZERO direction. I was hired as a data analyst and I was never once given an analysis assignment. I was instead given over 3,000 websites to manually review one at a time. The company and manager had no idea of what their needs were when hiring. They should have been looking for a team of entry level unskilled workers. I turned down a Data Science role at Google because this company seemed "cool." Don't be fooled like I was. Keep searching right on past this sham operation.

-There is a continuous revolving door of employees, often largely in management or senior roles. This leads to dysfunctional work practices, a decrease in team morale, and an overall breakdown of productivity. -Communication doesn't flow smoothly/accurately between tiers. Managers don't always effectively communicate with their team leads, the engineers on the team, or cross-teams which can create a definite disconnect. This leads to misunderstandings, missed expectations, and frustration at work, specifically with management.

Pay is mid/lowish They use Mac, not PC... Not necessarily a bad thing, but something to note.

One of the biggest cons is salary. The job I left LegitScript for is similar but pays quite a bit more. The way leadership talks about valid salary concerns in meetings comes across as very dismissive. There can be issues with transparency and being unprepared for new clients or programs. Unreasonable expectations and high pressure to deliver without adequate resources are a common problem. That can make the work environment very unpleasant. This is mostly coming from leadership; direct managers tend to be more reasonable here. LegitScript has improved here in someways in recent years, but it is still a big issue.

Do not work here. This is a sinking ship. Everything that made this company worth working for has been slowly stripped away. We used to have 6 weeks of flex time off but they took that away and stripped it to 4 weeks with only a single week of carryover. We were told in a highly passive aggressive email that it was the fault of new employees for using their time off too soon that the policy was changed. We used to be salaried with highly flexible schedules but they switched us to hourly. We were somewhat ok with this as we were guaranteed 2 hours of overtime. They have recently taken the overtime away as well for cost cutting. We're the ones who need that money to feed ourselves and pay rent, not this multi million dollar company that boasts about their profits on a regular basis. If you live on the West Coast where this company is based, the salaries are unsustainably low. Don't even think of working here if you are on a single income, you won't make it. There is very little opportunity for upward mobility and when you are promoted, the promotion pay raise just takes the place of your annual pay raise meaning you would have made around the same amount more if you were promoted or not. The company recently hired on a contractor as a permanent manager who has since begun laying off beloved coworkers. These were incredibly hard working employees who were replaced by people the company feels they can pay less while doing the work of multiple people. Finally, even if you ignore every previously made point, do not work here because the skills are not transferable. This is largely not a tech company. Analysts are doing hourly grunt work. There is little to no opportunity for career growth. You will work until you are burned out and then realize you have nowhere else to go because any similar companies require tech experience. P.s. I didn't even cover the lack of diversity, two faced upper management, or the lack of tech support (our systems have been broken on and off for months) but note these are also issues

Poor Management ( Micro management ). You will be micro managed and blamed on every single turn. The managers and higher ups will share their negative feedback to you but if you provide any negative feedback to them, pack your bags. You will be fired immediately. The company has created a horrible blame culture. Team work is actively discouraged. It's every person for themselves. Since the higher ups are completely non technical, the only tool they have in their arsenal is micro management, A lot of engineers have been fired and a lot of good ones have jumped ship. Shows you the direction the company is going.
