Pros

100 health benefits for employees

Cons

Very unprofessional millennial workplace. They have open discussions about politics and try to push everyone towards the blue side. They made people feel uncomfortable and judged about choosing not to be vaccinated. Very outspoken about about BLM and other social and political issues that should not be discussed nor influenced at work. They claim to have a very welcoming and inclusive culture but there is a significant amount of favoritism. They are far from being well diverse and inclusive. You either fit in with their “culture and mentality’ or be pushed out. They hire people to be claims managers who have absolutely no experience in the insurance industry. The claim managers from the Scottsdale office are micromanagers and can make people feel terrible about not meeting certain targets instead of trying to help them. This place is not what they make it seem.

Pros

Benefits were very good. Pay was okay. Peers are friendly and kind. Nice office

Cons

Management is clueless about what they are suppose to do. If they do know anything it is how to play favorites. Expectations are never explained but you will be reprimanded for them. People who get promoted only get it because they are friends with another manager or higher up barely on skill. If you are trans they could care less when you are dead named, it is the same for their customers. The only inclusivity at the job is in customer service, the other departments look mostly like a family reunion. If you do not agree with the thoughts and opinions of the ceo he will call you names (mind you he is the one who brought up the topic).

Pros

They reel you in with company swag, the promise of “transparency” and fridges filled with booze. It’s all a facade.

Cons

- Entire department is severely underpaid compared to the industry average. You likely won’t even be considered for a compensation review until your second anniversary - Understaffed - you’ll be asked to take on additional responsibilities with no additional compensation - No additional compensation for bilingual employees - No development opportunities - discussion around a “career pathways” program months ago with zero follow through - Senior managers are completely absent - Performance expectations vary significantly from team to team with no set metrics - Company culture is toxic - they’re only looking for yes men - Unreliable performance data - Poor decision making all around - unable to scale the business - No collaboration between business areas - No director or VP presence Overall my experience at Lemonade was chaotic, toxic and demoralizing. I would not recommend them as a potential employer.
