Very shady company

Pros

Only pro is the health insurance benefits. Nothing else.

Cons

I do not even know how to begin. They do not train you. The workload is way to high to be realistic. My entire training class told upper management and then it put a target on all of us. They say be transparent and open - that gets you no where! Literally, of the 5 of us who started together in late February 2023 - only 2 are still working there. Even those 2 were actively looking for a new company the last I knew. I have never worked for a more unprofessional company in my life. All these reviews that are critical of the company are 100% accurate. Seriously, don’t work for this company. You will be appreciated so much more somewhere else. No pay raises here either. They cannot afford to pay your worth. They lie to their employees and are shady for numerous reasons.

Pros

Benefits are the only real good thing about this job. Everything else is just painted pink to make you believe it’s all great. If you take your time to step back and look at the big picture is really not worth it.

Cons

Employees getting paid more than others no matter the experience level. The reviews here don’t lie. Slack is a nightmare here and the company lives by it. There will need to be additional days in the week just to catch up on slack messages outside of your daily workload. Mandatory 3 days in office for no reason at all. They enforce it just to fill the space because they don’t know what to do with all the extra room. No work/life balance. No salary raises until your second year and that’s not even guaranteed. You must brown nose A LOT or become “work besties” with a manager to even be considered for a promotion. They use lavish events and happy hours and many more perks to distract you from the reality of the job. When any issues are brought to attention and things are falling apart and you do the right thing of bringing your concerns up to any lead, you are left listening to a dead inside, broken and glitchy Disney character response instead of addressing the matter at hand. In other words, be careful, DO NOT TRUST how sweet and nice everyone is.

Pros

-Great coworkers -Good direct management and CX senior management -Nice office with snacks and treats -Full time remote work if desired (for CX anyway) -Great benefits -Fun activities on occasion -Pay was good when I started but I believe current salaries are not up to industry standard

Cons

Listen, it’s not the worst place I’ve worked, but it definitely was way better when I started several years prior. And recent times led to me feeling so burnt out that I felt the need to leave to get my mental health back on track. This job also made me never want to work at a 9-5 ever again, so take with that what you will. Getting a promotion or a raise is nearly impossible, unless you’re one of the favorites of upper management. They want to hire as few people as possible even when understaffed, so even if you do get that promotion, you’re going to be miserable. Company logistics are a mess, and they have leaders in positions that they very much should not be leading as they have no concept of what these teams do or background in the department. There are also upper management folks who make it their mission to be intimidating and difficult to work with — why? To me that seems like a poor way to run a company. Additionally, there is no pay transparency so you could be making far less than someone in the same role, and it’s discouraged to discuss wages (wonder why). At the end of the day, I want to see Lemonade succeed. I believe in the product and the mission, but I do think it got lost along the way. If it is possible to get the company back on track with happy employees, happy customers, and a solid product, I would jump for joy. But I’ll need to see it to believe it…
