Pros

They have $3 catered lunches, a popcorn machine, no dress code, free bagels on Friday’s. My job duties were repetitive but straightforward. I also worked with several sincerely, genuine people during my time of employment.

Cons

LendingTree is well-known for its laid-back, stress free work environment. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case for its outbound team at the contact center department. Many changes have been implemented in a very short period of time since the previous senior manager and supervisor were promoted. This includes changes in management (i.e. senior manager and immediate supervisors), inconsistency in following new policies and call procedures, but most importantly the company culture. Tensions are high. Morale is low. Performance Improvement Plans(PIP) are delivered to multiple agents for reasons which appear to be subjective. A company or even a single department experiencing growing pains is understandable, but it seems like this tolerance for unethical behavior will persist. Although the company itself is considered successful (LendingTree stock is soaring). The future of the contact center (outbound team) remains uncertain.

Pros

There are no pros to working at Tree.com/LendingTree. If you are reading this and you are considering applying for a position here, I would highly recommend that you seek employment elsewhere. You will be miserable in this working environment. I am currently looking at other employment options and I know for a fact that several other employees are looking around at other companies as well.

Cons

The management at Tree.com/LendingTree has no control over costs and they have no clear direction. They are trying to get back to their "startup" roots. This is code for " being cheap". Salaries are below industry average unless you are a top executive. The only way they can lure top executives to Tree is to pay them alot of money. There is high turnover at the entry, middle and executive levels. The CEO is also the Chairman. This is a huge conflict of interest, in my opinion. The CEO claims to have an open-door policy. He tries to act like a cool "startup" CEO by working out of a cubicle. The irony is that he never, EVER walks around and talks to employees and he is not a very approachable person.

Pros

The people you work with are great

Cons

Work from home is off the table. Don't ask for it because you won't get get it. From the CEO down, management is stuck in an old school mentality of workers in cubicles while their competition is not. CEO even said he would require 5 days in office if it was up to him. CEO is totally out of touch with the company and doesn't even come into the office himself. Lays off employees while he and the rest of the crowded C-suite cash huge checks

We value your input regarding your time at LendingTree. Our approach to remote work is shaped by several key factors, including the need to maintain a cohesive team environment and uphold optimal productivity standards. Recognizing that transitioning to a hybrid model represented a significant change for our team members, we took measures to ensure a smooth adaptation. We provided our employees with an extended transition period, facilitating their shift from a fully remote setup to embracing our new hybrid policy. Our hybrid model approach still allows for flexibility, and we want our employees to be empowered to do their best work with a schedule that suits them best.    During this transition, we also took careful consideration of various circumstances. This included acknowledging the challenges faced by those who do not reside within commutable distances and accommodating individuals with exceptional circumstances. We're committed to creating a work environment that caters to diverse needs.  Your input will aid us in fostering an environment that strikes the right balance between our collective goals and the well-being of our team members.  Thank you, LendingTree Human Resources Department
