Pros

Working on Direct To Consumer initiative, Artificial Intelligence, and many great people

Cons

There are few alligators in the swamp, that frankly would not survive one day in a startup or healthy company. My reason for leaving is linked to a director level team member, a woman, pronoun unknown, that is mean and spends more time on discrediting others than uniting a team.

Toxic Culture

Pros

Company is a strong proponent of progressive social and environmental issues. Decent pay for retail Good health benefits

Cons

Toxic internal culture. The store level workers are treated like dirt by the corporate level employees. Upper management instills extreme fear tactics when corporate visits occur and you feel like you could get fired just by looking at them the wrong way. They also demand the red carpet, celebrity treatment whenever they come into the store (god forbid they’re not greeted by every single associate in the store). There is also absolutely zero regard for work/life balance. It’s near impossible to get a weekend off (I’ve had only 3 off in the past year). It’s also an uphill battle to request vacation time as it will always conflict with “the needs of the business” even if you give 3 months notice in advance. Work hours are 9+ hour days and schedules are not made fairly. Upper management works the normal 9 to 5s and comes and goes whenever they please leaving support managers to work the undesirable shifts.

Pros

The corner office on the 6th floor has great scenery

Cons

Management is horrible and the organization is rife with politics that stymie organizational progress and personal growth.
