Pros
As an HR professional, I was able to learn so much about this industry and gain in-depth knowledge about Human Resources practices and procedures. It was such a great experience to be able to work on different projects such as; Recruiting, Onboarding, Employee Appreciation etc. This position with Levy was a great learning experience and I was able to meet a lot of great people across many departments.
Cons
Management was terrible in the HR department. It was devastating to constantly hear my bosses talk poorly about our coworkers (even those in the same department). I have never witnessed such catty, unprofessional and often rude behaviors from management - especially coming from the Human Resources department. Micromanagement is also a regular occurrence in every aspect of this department. I never went to work feeling empowered, autonomous or respected in my role. Low pay for the Portland Metro area.
