Pros

The benefits are significant. There is a great pension contribution provided by the employer. The free soup and salad for lunch is also a great benefit.

Cons

There really aren't too many challenges due to the benefits. Some departments have directors or higher that have been employed for a long time which may leave little room for movement in this setting.

Pros

Benefits include a flexible work schedule during the summer, tuition waiver, decent insurance coverage. Overall not that demanding work.

Cons

Management does not give any insight whatsoever as to long-term career opportunities and how to improve oneself; management is hesitant to provide professional development opportunities. There absolutely no clear-cut definition or process of how to receive a salary increase. Shared work-space makes for uncomfortable working conditions.

The opportunity to be a leader to students seeking help and assistance, provides personal satisfaction in being able to help colleagues.

Cons

During busy times, space may be a problem and noise might inhibit the ability to tutor. Maximum amount of hours allowed is sometimes a negative, but I understand that they prioritize schoolwork first.
