Pros

Great severance packages! In Dec. employees are allowed to wear jeans everyday. Summer flex hours are available; however, very few take advantage due to meetings and deadlines. Employees are recognized and rewarded with plastic coins.

Cons

Senior management alienates, divides, creates fear and uncertainty vs use influencing skills. Many VPs withhold information, release selectively, and use it as a weapon vs share information freely. They identify only with clones of himself or herself vs gets on well with people at all levels and from all backgrounds. And there is lies the difference between management and true leadership. Employee advocates no longer exist - HR should not be allowed to follow marching orders. Instead HR should provide solutions to assist and develop employees. HR professionals have 3 roles: administrator, cop, and consultant. Too often at the company, they focus on the first two and neglect the third – making matters worse.

Yearly restructuring.

Pros

Good benefits package. Online career-related education available and encouraged. Professional environment. Several remote positions available. Many good and talented coworkers.

Cons

Mid-level management changes frequently. Numerous mergers acquisitions and divestitures. Every year, there is some sort of restructuring. Some years, even when profits are good, departments are decimated through layoffs. The trend is outsourcing more and more positions.

Pros

Flexibility and the opportunity to be innovative are the perks of the company. There is not anything else good about working here.

Cons

Constant change. Departments disappear without notice. You don't do anything that is in the job title, but you do a million other things that should be paid way more. Management is jaded, and full of working managers who are ready to leave. No chance for promotion to leadership unless you know someone, or have been there 16 years.
