      Pros

      Life.Church strikes a great balance between pushing you to become the best version of yourself possible while also leaving plenty of flexibility to balance work with family and personal life.

      Cons

      Working for a church, it's easy to walk into this job unprepared -- either because you don't anticipate the level of excellence expected or because you assume that spending your days inside a church exempts you from the stresses and strains of a "secular" job. Both are false. The work is challenging, and sometimes the people are too. You just have to decide if the mission is worth the struggle. For me, five years in and I can say it absolutely is.

      Pros

      1) Team Culture: the team is passionate, hard-working and fun. 2) Work that Matters: We are working on products every day that are helping change lives. 3) Professional Development: In the time that I have been working for YouVersion, I have not only been stretched in my skill, but also in my leadership.

      Cons

      Because of the nature of our work and mission, it can be easy to get wrapped up in working more than anticipated. But I think that can happen anywhere and YouVersion is excellent at honoring boundaries to protect work/life balance, you just have to take some ownership in creating them for yourself and your family.

      We agree with you: Life.Church is a fast-paced environment! We definitely don’t have it all down yet, but we are always trying to get better at making sure that the time you spend outside the office with family and friends is as fruitful and fulfilling as the time you get to invest at work.
