Pros

Get to work with clients who need your help and coworkers who are caring even though they leave quickly. Pay just starting to be competitive, although reevaluated right before a rate increase for OHP mental health services, so that might take years to catch up.

Cons

I was expected to take more clients than one clinician can reasonably manage, and then expected to keep taking more. I couldn't see clients often enough to establish a quality therapeutic alliance, so it made me less effective. I wasn't provided supervision for licensure and the money available for outside supervision is a joke, but if you think about it, who benefits from the clinicians never getting full licensure... Lots of other places will hire associates and provide quality mentorship as you work towards a full license! And they do it without overloading new clinicians with clients and no time to complete paperwork. Please, find somewhere you will thrive not simply survive!
