You will not move up unless you are part of the family.

Pros

Brands are well recognized in the marketplace. Stable company that is growing internationally. Casual dress code. If you work for Lifetime you will work with some great people.

Cons

Public company but almost every senior position has some connection to the Siegel/Cohen families. You will see someone with a different last name and think, "how did they get that job" then find out they are married into the family or someones cousin. If you are not in the inner circle yhou will not go anywhere in the company. Pay is well below average and company only gives cost of living raises. Bonuses are minimal if at all. Benefits are poor. Although the insurance improved in 2013 it is still expensive and no matching 401k.

Pros

Huge brands = good stepping stone into housewares industry; product discounts

Cons

Low salary for amount of work; low raises; little room for movement especially out of your division; favoritism and nepotism a major issue - the favored and/or family gain all benefits as far as pay and flexibility; a male dominated environment; not a forward (creative) thinking environment
