Pros

Nice people to work with.

Cons

Parent company doesn't care about it's employees. Shutterfly chose to shut down the plant in Chico california about a month after the worst wildfire in california's history left over 50 of their employees without homes.

Pros

This place took me under its wing and raised me. The people here invest in you and help you get better every day. They typically have great intentions and are family focused.

Cons

Since the acquisition nobody really knows what private equity will do. The uncertainty and the fear are mounting, and I hope it gets better when the sale closes. We are all waiting for Superman and all we hear is silence or scripted speech.

Pros

-Smiling kids are the best! -Different everyday! Hardly any repetitive days. -Coworkers are usually supportive and fun to be around...some exceptions apply -a lot on autonomy to do your job

Cons

This is going to be long...!!! I worked here nearly 10 years starting as a photographer. Photographers have long days, sometimes 12-14 hours, usually with no break. I have seen photographers work 18 hrs days with only an hour break. They are on their feet for most, if not all, off this time. The equipment is extremely cumbersome and takes awhile to set up. Early mornings only make this more annoying. There is supposed to be consistent coaching and training on photo quality which never happens because they load too much on any one person and that person never has the time to administer said coaching/training. Growth within the company is ONLY made possible when someone in a higher position leaves. If you do manage to get a position in Lead or Management, beware! Everything you do will be scrutinized by the management and sales teams. The hours in these types of positions are CRAZY. I was clocking 120+ hours/week (on salary, with no overtime, and low pay). My typical schedule while in management was 5a-12a on a good day. There were times where a 4a-1a work days was not out of the question (and boy do I wish I was exaggerating). Then when you bring this to the attention of upper management, they laugh and tell you that’s normal. HOW IS THAT NORMAL?!
