Pros

No micro-management, ability to make big bucks if you perform well, travel opportunities. decent workmates. A fun job photographing families. Opportunity to become employee-owner.

Cons

Long hours (some days are 15 hours inc travel), Grouchy customers, lack of pay in poverty-stricken churches, a lot of physical labor in moving and setting up studio equipment. Commission only.

Pros

Lifetouch is the best church directory company out there! The company continually adds new products to stay relevant to the needs of the church. If you're performing well consistently, management leaves you to do your job. Lots of salesforce database training. Working with church staff and volunteers is rewarding. Working from a home office is a plus, plus. Good office equipment provided.

Cons

While the company puts great effort into technical training on their customer database system and super training in account management and customer service, they offer very little (if any) training in sales yet performance and the ability to stay employed is based on sales. High stress level in a challenging and rapidly changing market. Management positions are clearly under constant stress from senior management and corporate.

Pros

A little bit better than nothing

Cons

The claim to fame for them was the ESOP, (employee stock for retirement) and was to offset terrible wages . Not anymore. After years of screwing employees out of other benefits such as insurance and paid time off, not listening to employees suggestions, spending money on frivolous things for corporate including a big celebration with celebrity musical guests, putting a CEO in with retail not photography credentials the ESOP has tanked . Recent retirees have lost 1/3 or more of their retirement. Future retirees stand to lose much more. Stock for 2017 plummeted by 37% after 2 previous years taking a hit making it worth just a little over half of its value 3 years ago. They lay people off during very busy season then work a skeleton crew into exhaustion with overtime. I guess they don't want many people getting enough hours to qualify for benefits. In the meantime common sense should dictate that these employees left working in exhaustion are going to make more mistakes while other capable people are having to look for other jobs because they've lost benefits including unemployment because it's ran out. So there is a big turnover with new people who aren't properly trained.
