Pros

During the peak seasons we stay pretty busy and all in all make great money. During the off seasons I can either find work in other territories or draw unemployment, so its like a paid vacation. What I love most is that I'm not selling some product or commodity, I am selling something that I created. The benefits are on par with most companies and the ESOP program cant be beat as a retirement program for those who are loyal and in it for the long haul.

Cons

The job is commission only, so sometimes you might find yourself doing "volunteer work". I wouldn't recommend this job for "button pushers", you'll find very quickly that if your portraits aren't up to snuff then they wont sell. Training is very good and seasoned employees are always willing to work with those who seek it, but you'll get out of this exactly what you put into it.

Pros

Work with kids and great people. Plus you get to use state of the art photographic equipment and make great portraits.

Cons

Too much driving. We drive around the state of Arizona and parts of California. You have to drive your own vehicle.

Pros

ESOP when it was earning. It is losing ground now. I work with great people.

Cons

Bad senior level management decisions. Making camera's themselves at huge expense when Nikon etc. already spends millions to develop cameras. Just buy theirs and take advantage of their product development costs. Hiring expensive people every month at the corporate level. We get emails all the time about some other created position that benefits no one at the territory level. Robbing the territories using the charge back system. The managers and employees at the field level barely make a living. Starting Area Business Models when the present territory set up was a proven model over a seventy year period. They keep trying new and wasteful practices. Then they have to go back to the old way. How much damage this has done to ESOP is anybody's guess. I remain hopeful that they can straighten things out. I'm drawing out ESOP and doing something else in a couple of years anyway.
