Pros

Larger branches, >10 employees, normally have sufficient resources to complete new orders. The company allows the Center Manager to plan associate career paths and to help grow others.

Cons

Smaller branches, <10 employees, sometimes have a difficult time ensuring sufficient inventories of equipment to ensure new orders can be fulfilled without the Manager driving to another location to acquire equipment. The company focuses on making equipment last as long as possible to the point that equipment can be in poor appearance but will still be used in patients' homes

Pros

The employees on the bottom rung actually really care about patients. There is a small town feel to the local service stores. The area stores work together well. There is a lot of freedom in the office as long as you get your work completed in a timely manner.

Cons

There is no management. Just number crunchers. Management only sees numbers and does not care about the employees just their jets and the shareholders. The upper-management got bonuses, raises, and tropical island vacations while the lowest rung employees doing all the hard work did not get raises and some will not see them until the next year. Nothing is uniform across Lincare. No one knows product knowledge and they dont care about anything but Oxygen growth. They also do not care about the environment with as much paper as they waste when the competitors have a more efficient way to process such as Apria and Rotech.

Pros

1) My position allows some freedom. I leave the office for the better part of the day, and can for the most part run my route the best way I see fit. 2) I see many Pts. on a very regular basis, and most have become good friends. It's nice knowing that these people really care how your doing or feeling.

Cons

Numbers Numbers Numbers...what about Pt. care? Lincare (Management & Corperate) don't seem to care about Pts. as actual people. They are just a number that make them money. It really doesn't matter how much work you really do, if your O2 S/U # is not in positive territory then you are not working or don't care about the company. Example: One of our large contract nursing homes was unhappy with the rate changes Lincare sprung on them at the first of the year. Corperate told them that the rates were final, and if they didn't like it, then they can find someone else to provide O2. The nursing home sent a letter explaining that they loved the service that the local Licare provided, but couldn't take the rate changes. If lincare was unwilling or able to negotiate it's pricing then they would have no choice but to forgo our services. Sadly management said no, so we lost 15 patients instantly in just one month. On the positive side we actually had 14 new O2 set-up that same month (I think it's a pretty good number for most any center) However, Management only saw 15 Pickups & 14 Setups which equals -1 for the month. We were all threatened with our jobs, and told that we were get our numbers up or else. The kicker is that we had no control over Management dumping the nursing home or the 15 pickups they caused us. Yep, money & number!
