Pros

Good salary. Teachers really care about the kids.

Cons

I was let go without any notice. The company is struggling and everyone is nervous. Salary cuts were unprofessionally announced at the end of the day, just before Thanksgiving via an email. It took a month for the CEO to explain to us the status of the company. Make no mistake; LMB is ONLY driven by revenue. It is so bad, that once you get convince a family to pay, you have to post the dollar amount on an internal site for the entire company to see. You are celebrated for collecting revenue, not helping kids. (If you are a parent reading this, know that someone will do a dance after you agree to a $15,000.00 program.) There is NO training for those hired from the outside. You are set up to fail from day one. (A company that prides itself on educating children does not train full-time staff.) One of my managers was "hands off" and the other was "micromanage the process"...so no consistency. The company does not advertise, so you, as a Center Director, are solely responsible for driving sales. I should have listened, last year, when I read the negative reviews...hopefully, this will help someone.

Pros

-I did work there for 8 years so there are a lot of things that are great about LBLP -I did survive the recession while working at LBLP and I got my Master's Degree while working full time at LBLP. So for the right person/reasons and if you are at the right location they can and will accommodate your schedule -Most of the kids are great -The company is ever evolving in a number of ways so if you enjoy constant change, even if it just changes right back, you may enjoy working for LBLP -It's a perfect gig if you are in school or have another means of revenue

Cons

Once I became a consultant I NEVER stopped working. The expectation was that I'd be readily accessible to each of my parents, the expert on each of my kids, and deliver top notch quality individualized lesson plans for my students on my load no matter what it took. More often than not this happened outside the hours of 8-5 while I was not on the clock. The company is very elitist. I realized this early on. They have a product that millions of people can benefit from but only the HAVES can truly make it work according to the formula. When I started the hourly rate for service was $86 when I left 8 years later it was $114. My pay increased averaged less than $1 a year. I think one year I got a $0.25 raise. If you are a White female who looks like you may have been in a sorority and you're not an idiot you will do well at LBLP. If you are not, just know you'll stagnate. There are few men or women of color that thrive in that company. They are selective as to who they promote regardless of skill set or what you have to offer. I witnessed someone with no clinical background get promoted from an operations position over people who had been in the clinical role for years. They believe anyone can be taught yet they choose to develop who they want to develop. If you make a mistake it's made into this huge deal. HUGE. They are really ambitious but don't seem to have the basics as far as how to run a successful business mastered yet despite being in business for so long.

Pros

This company delivers effective quality instruction to it's clients. You can't help but love the children who come in for instruction. It is gratifying to be a part of students' life-long educational gains.

Cons

The company is unstable and unpredictable. Recently upper management announced a company wide pay cut immediately enforced during the holiday season. Employees were notified of this cut via email, the night before a holiday when offices would be closed. This action seemed cowardly and passive. Employees were then notified that layoffs would be made, piling extra labor on existing employees... who were recently given pay cuts. The company was seemingly in a good place over the summer, and suddenly these drastic changes were made right at the start of the holiday season. I question the leadership of company management as I find it hard to believe all of these actions were necessary to make all at once...all during the holiday season. Their actions show how they value their employees, showing no appreciation to their labor and sacrifices made for the company. It is truly disappointing as they have the potential to change the lives of their clients. Unfortunately, the low morale in the offices will take it's toll on instructional quality, as staff is not motivated to give their best effort.
