I enjoy working for this company

Pros

The programs that Nanci Bell and Pat Lindamood have created to get students to read and comprehend are amazing. I did most of these processes naturally as a kid and never realized that not everyone can do this independently. The work environment is fun and engaging for both clients and staff. Efforts are made on a variety of ends to ensure a good experience for all, such as after hours get togethers, fun, themed days for all to enjoy, etc. Systems are in place to give immediate feedback, along with meetings for more formal reviews. Since students from all backgrounds come in for remediation, patience and a love for fun is a must!

Cons

Unfortunately, hours for clinicians are based on student load. The student load relies on many factors, in which, a few factors are out of the clinician's hands/control. However, during the screening/interview process, they do outline what the clinician role entails, so this wasn't a surprise. Also, since management enjoys working for the company, changing positions or "promotions" can be limited. Some promotions are made based on a "right place, right time" situation for those who are hard working and show promise.

Pros

Able to see students with learning disabilities actually make improvements. Consultants actually care whether or not students are meeting goals. Students are monitored on an ongoing basis to see that learning is taking place and programs are tweaked accordingly.

Cons

Many clinicians hours flexed too much from one week to the next. Schedules for the following week were almost never completed in a timely manner, leaving clinicians unable to plan for the week. Although after-training mentoring actually existed, no time was allotted for feedback or follow-up.

Disappointing Experience

Pros

Consultants are trained to use the Lindamood Bell materials Children are fun to work with and do generally make progress

Cons

-High expectations for low pay and little respect -Unpaid lunch meetings (not technically mandatory, but was told, "if you care, you will go") -Parents are made to feel that they "need" this and that without LMB their children will not improve. They are even encouraged to take out loans if they cannot afford it (and few can at over $100/hr). -Unprofessional Management: I have not had such bad management since I was in high school. I was never given any constructive criticism, but was given a negative review when I left. I would have been happy to change any of these issues if any of the were brought to my attention! -Sr. Management talks down to staff and belittles them at meetings.
