Great Process, Bad Company

Pros

Their process really does work well. You end up changing people's lives. This is often people's last hope, and there were only a few instances where it couldn't help.

Cons

It pays terribly, and management is not kind to employees. They never took our complaints seriously, and did not provide support for students with behavior difficulties, or ANY support around working with difficult students. The "Lindamood Bell Academy" is a joke of a school and a system, forcing the teachers to essentially make up lesson plans in between students or (unpaid) on their own time.

Do not recommend for more than temp work

Pros

The kids are great. It can be a fun work environment at times. The technique for teaching is very good/effective. You can see some great progress with your kiddos. Good for a temporary placeholder job (while you look for something better)

Cons

Very strange and cult-y atmosphere. Very obvious high staff turnover rate. Strangely corporate and rigid for a job centered around working with kids and trying to make learning fun. Prepare to be micromanaged. Very little training for a job that requires some pretty high-level teaching skills. Obvious favoritism among employees. Little opportunity for advancement. No reciprocal relationship between management and employees. Have a good idea? Keep it to yourself. This is a very "Keep your head down and do what you are told" type of place.
