Management is Awful

Pros

The kids by and large are great

Cons

Nobody is really qualified for what they are doing. There is a two-training where most of the time is spent on corporate garbage. Not much time spent on the actual tutoring. Parents, at the time I left were paying $2,000 A WEEK to have some college kid with two weeks of training trying to teach their child how to read. Homework Matters is even more awful. Parents spend hundreds of dollars every month to have their children sit at desks and be watched by a tutor. Don't kid yourself-----the only goal of LBLP is to make money. EVERYONE needs some sort of instruction. They prey upon desperate parents and encourage them to go into debt for the instruction and then make no guarantees. The database they use for the "clients"/students is Salesforce---that should tell you something right there. Also, look around. Out in the Learning Centers, you would do well to see anyone over 40. And they pay the tutors a fraction of the hourly rate they charge the parents. All they are doing is making Nancy Bell very rich. Oh, and the center directors get Bonuses based on how many students they sign and how much revenue they generated.

Pros

-You get to make positive changes in the lives of struggling students. -Kids are fun and interesting to work with. -Great and effective reading program. -You meet some wonderful people along the way.

Cons

-The management doesn't care about you or support you in any real way. -Management not flexible, it's their way or the highway. -Parts of program can be too rigid. -Pointless meetings that provide no added value to actual instruction and are simply a waste of time. -Upper management doesn't seem to serve a real purpose most days...they don't actually see the students...yet they make what I assume is decent money and earn bonuses.

Pros

Great reading program that will help your dyslexic child to learn how to READ Good opportunity to learn how to work with children with special needs Will meet some great people along the way

Cons

EXPENSIVE PROGRAM....Beware, your child may be working with someone not worth the $129/hour Comprehension program doesn't consistently yield same results as reading program! EVALUATIONS OUTDATED and doesn't always pinpoint weak areas accurately Does not prepare STAFF to properly work with misbehaved children AND autistic children NO REAL STRUCTURE for helping children learn to write
