Pros

Training is good. They give you enough time to practice and time to practice all the material.

Cons

1) It is NOT a welcoming atmosphere. When given the office tour, they constantly said "This is XXXX office, but try not to disturb her because she is always busy." Basically, not to bother anyone in the office. 2) Some students do NOT benefit from this program. You can constantly see that they are not getting anything from it, waste entire hours without participating, but parents are never given the suggestion to take them less hours. 3) It is very fast paced and you can't go into the office more than 5 minutes before your shift starts, so there is not enough time to really get prepared, especially if you are beginning. They just don't want you to "clock in" before, but it would be better to allow clinicians to get well prepared before their students arrive.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Lindamood-Bell. We appreciate your feedback, although some may be difficult to hear. We regret that our core philosophy was unclear during your employment—we strive to provide a positive work environment, treat all individuals respectfully, offer sensitivity, and value each other. Regarding instruction, independent research consistently proves what we see in our learning centers daily—Lindamood-Bell instruction improves language and literacy skills for students with dyslexia, autism, and other conditions that may affect learning. While the clinician role may not be a right fit for everyone, the positive effect of our approach should be evident. We will continue to improve on how well we help staff understand what they are doing and why. Thank you again for your review. We consider feedback like yours in our efforts to improve the workplace and communication. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Exhausting and not rewarding

Pros

This place is a corporate cesspool.

Cons

For a place that lauds the "magic" in learning, they seem to be focused more about the price of learning. Profit driven. Terrible and careless management, poor quality training.

Pros

Working with the kids is great, and it provides some solid educational experience

Cons

You will feel like a cog in the machine. As other reviews have commented on in the past, parents pay exorbitant, unreasonable sums of money to have undertrained college students teach their kids here. Neither party is compensated properly, whether in education or in payment--instead, most of the benefits go towards higher-ups who are completely out of touch with the employees on the ground. Also, the online educational system they use is TERRIBLE. You'll end up flipping between 7 tabs of different unintegrated websites with laggy software and quickly finding yourself exhausted from all the multitasking. Most kids don't learn effectively with online learning, either (as we've all become aware of following early-to-mid-pandemic education), and there are few tools to keep them engaged, or even just in the "session space." Little support and few resources in general for clinicians

Thank you for sharing your experience with Lindamood-Bell. We appreciate your candor though some of it is difficult to hear. Several descriptions conflict with our goals and practices. For example, we added research-validated virtual instruction in 2015—to meet the needs of remote students. We will continue to help students learn in person and live online. While the clinician role may not be a right fit for everyone, the positive effect of our approach on student learning should be evident. We are sorry that this was not adequately communicated during your employment. Regardless, research studies prove what we experience daily—one-to-one Lindamood-Bell learning center instruction is effective for students whether they attend in-person or online. We consider reviews like yours in our efforts to maintain quality and improve our communication. If you are willing to share more about your experience working at Lindamood-Bell, please contact the Human Resources Department at support.hr@lindamoodbell.com or (800) 233-1819. Thank you.
