Pros

There are committees that you can join such as Wellness or Philanthropy that try to engage the staff in fundraisers and other events, but this is by no means a reason to work here

Cons

If you like being at a dead end job on a sinking ship, this is the place for you! IT is terrible and most databases don't work properly. Instead of investing the time in fixing them, they would rather you spend the extra time using a work-around and then be upset that it is cutting into your productivity. When 100% of your job is on the computer, you need systems that work. Management is typically unavailable, leaving staff to fend for themselves. There is little to no training so good luck trying to figure it out. There is an extremely high turn-over rate and most people figure it out within a few months and quit. The compensation is well below the competition despite what they will tell you. There are no bonuses and less than the cost of living increase each year. While other locations of this company may be better, stay away from the Southfield location. Clearly, the only positive review on here is from HR. If you are smart, you will not waste your time. I'm sorry I did.

Pros

Receiving a paycheck is about the only thing.

Cons

Livingston could be a great company to work for, but the Southfield, MI office is pathetic and should be avoided. The corporate culture is antiquated and favoritism runs rampant. (I.E. all upper management are BBQ buddies ) Every single department suffers from brutal turnover rates and poor employee morale, and two groups of people have emerged in the company, people who have been in the industry 20+ years or people who are just out of college with no experience and will be gone within the year because there is no investment on employee development. The Technology is outdated, and despite what they say about “process improvement” no one is truly willing to develop any process improvements and anything that is suggested will be given great lip service and have nothing done to it. Management is in meetings all day and micromanages every aspect of the process which just means delays for the process owner who gets thrown under the bus when goals are not met. If you are applying here, don’t you will regret it after a few months. The only positive review for the Southfield office was from HR.

Pros

Wear jeans to work, floating holiday, pays overtime but will reprimand if you have any.

Cons

LI does not encourage customer relations. Cookie cutter CHB, knows nothing about freight forwarding. Corporate HR lies about open door policy. Poor branch management. I would never recommend working at this company!!!!
